Taipei, 20 August 2026 – Aquila Clean Energy APAC (Aquila Clean Energy), a clean energy platform headquartered in Singapore, today announced that it has signed a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Sustainable Energy Solution Co. Ltd. (SES), a renewable energy development subsidiary of Susen Green Energy Co., Ltd. (SGE, 7931:TT), and their parent company, the Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) Group, for Aquila Clean Energy’s first solar PV-fishery project in Taiwan. The project is expected to generate more than 32 GWh of electricity annually, all of which will be purchased by SES and SAS under the agreement, supporting their renewable energy procurement and contributing to the decarbonisation of Taiwan’s industrial sector.
Construction of the 26.3 MWp solar PV-fishery project in Tainan City is underway, and the project is expected to commence commercial operations in 2027. Under the agreement, Aquila Clean Energy will supply renewable electricity, while SES will provide renewable energy aggregation and wheeling services, helping businesses meet RE100, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and net zero commitments.
The project has been developed using a solar PV-fishery model, enabling the continued use of land and water for aquaculture while generating renewable electricity. The project is expected to generate approximately 32 GWh of electricity annually, delivering carbon emissions reductions of around 14,900 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) each year1. Over the 20-year term of the agreement, cumulative electricity supply is expected to be around 640 GWh, with cumulative carbon emissions reductions exceeding 290,000 tonnes of CO₂e.
Payments under the CPPA will be handled by Bank SinoPac’s renewable energy trust mechanism, which provides cash flow administration and contractual performance oversight throughout the life of the agreement. This trust structure enhances transparency and strengthens performance assurance for both parties, supporting the long-term execution of the CPPA.
Morris Lu, Head of Taiwan, Aquila Clean Energy, said, “Corporate power purchase agreements are playing an increasingly important role in accelerating Taiwan’s energy transition by connecting new renewable energy projects with growing corporate demand for clean electricity. This agreement combines Aquila Clean Energy’s project development expertise with SES’s renewable electricity retail capabilities, creating long-term value for both parties while helping businesses progress towards their decarbonisation goals.
This project marks an important milestone for our Taiwan business and reflects the strength of our local team and project pipeline. We look forward to continuing to work with partners across the market to bring more clean energy projects into operation and support Taiwan’s long-term energy transition.”
Pedersen Chen, President of SAS and Chairman of SGE, said, “Renewable energy has evolved from being an option for corporate sustainability into an increasingly important foundation of supply chain competitiveness. As global customers continue to raise expectations around decarbonisation and renewable electricity usage, demand for long-term, stable renewable power sources is growing rapidly. SGE will continue integrating diverse renewable energy resources and energy management services to help businesses effectively achieve their carbon reduction targets and sustainability commitments.
Signing this 20-year CPPA with Aquila Clean Energy not only further expands SES’s renewable electricity supply portfolio but also strengthens SGE and SAS Group’s position in the renewable energy market. Going forward, we will continue enhancing our capabilities across renewable power generation, electricity retailing, energy storage and energy management services to build a more comprehensive renewable energy services ecosystem and help more businesses achieve their net zero transition.”
