Doing our part for the communities where we operate
Since the launch of our business in 2020, we have supported local organisations and charities that align with our purpose and values and that have provided opportunities for our colleagues to volunteer and share their skills. In 2023 we kicked off a comprehensive CSR plan which formalised and structured our annual CSR engagement. This started with activities at our regional headquarters in Singapore and will be rolled out across the region by end of year.
Transportation Challenge
In 2023 we completed a transport challenge. Colleagues committed to commuting for two weeks exclusively using sustainable modes of transport. The initiative was intended to “green” our transport and encourage incremental lifestyle changes that support our planet.
UWS Girls Empowered “Speak Up” Workshop
In 2023 we partnered with United Women Singapore (UWS) to create and deliver communication and negotiations skills workshops for female students preparing to enter the workforce. UWS is a Singapore-based non-profit that advances women’s empowerment and gender equality.
Community Cleanup
In 2023, Aquila Clean Energy engaged in community cleanup initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to the communities where we operate across the region. Our teams actively participated in a beach cleanup at East Coast Park in Singapore, contributing to local environmental stewardship. In Taiwan, we undertook a mountain cleanup at the Guanyinshan National Scenic Area, focusing on preserving the natural beauty of the region. Our colleagues also participated in a cleanup around the Aquila Clean Energy APAC Kimitsu Solar PV site in Japan, which was well received by the neighbours and community in the surrounding area.
